A Message from Medford Parks,
Recreation and Facilities

The Rogue Credit Union Community Complex (Rogue X) is Medford’s happy place -- a recreation factory that puts
smiles on faces of citizens and visitors alike. One would think building visitation and revenue numbers could never
surpass the first year of operations when the Rogue X was new and novel. However, amazingly, Rogue X Year 3 is
shaping up as the busiest yet.
The Rogue X is on a six-month record-setting streak for lap swim visits, and the facility surpassed all-time records for
aquatics visits in the months of May and June. Event Center drop-in visits also set visitation records in April, May and
June. And for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, the Rogue X beat the previous year’s revenue total by a six-percent
margin ($1,565,574).
The Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department works hard to manage and maintain the Rogue X, Lithia & Driveway
Fields, 30 parks and over 2,600 acres of parkland. For recreation enthusiasts, we’re pleased to complete the recent
pickleball court development initiative with four new dedicated courts at Roosevelt Elementary School Park (in
addition to The Courts By Lithia & Drvieway, which opened in June), four new sand volleyball courts at Howard
Memorial Sports Park, and a refurbished 1.33-mile Twilight Trail in Prescott Park.

New facilities are always fun to bring online, but the Department is excited to renovate Jackson Park in west Medford
in the coming months with expected completion in 2027. The park’s history is substantially tied to the operation
of a seasonal swimming pool between 1960 and 2023. When the renovation is complete, the park will feature an
imaginative “splash park” flanked by picnic pavilions, an expanded playground, and a new restroom.

Parks and recreation operations in other cities are scaling back due to financial constraints. Thanks to citizen and
policymaker support, Medford’s park system is growing and vibrant. As a result, Community Thrives Here.
