Memorial Honors Oregon Stewardship Leader Jim Hutchins
A large boulder memorial has been installed at the head of Panther Pride Trail in Bear Creek Park to honor Oregon
Stewardship leader Jim Hutchins.
Jim devoted decades to restoring riparian areas and enhancing environmental educational opportunities for high
school and college students. The inscription on the memorial is something Jim often said: “I don’t think we do anything
worthwhile alone.”
Jim passed away in 2024 at age 88. We’re deeply grateful for his years of dedicated service and the enduring impact of
his work, which will continue to benefit our community for years to come.
